Save our Seas
“Save our Seas” is a campaign that we have been a part of since 2017. In alliance with our partners we have continuously called to end overfishing, and to declare that fish are not waste and should not be discarded. At least 30% of EU seas need to become Marine Protected Areas. In 2019 our broad coalition of partners of 18 organisations from Europe delivered almost 500,000 signatures to the European Council and to the new EU Commissioner for Oceans and the Environment, Virginijus Sinkevičius. Our community contributed almost 220,000 signatures to the crowd. We joined deliveries and protests whenever important meetings of Agri-Fish ministers took place in Sofia or Brussels.
